Oliver 1750 hydraulic pump

anyone have any experience with oliver 1750 hydraulic pumps? A friend says none of the aftermarket pumps are any good, failing in 50-100 hours. He says only the original Agco pump is worth the trouble to install. This is supposed to be from several different installations so not the same person doing the work.

What do you mean by ''worth the trouble to install''? You have to do the same thing to install a cheaper aftermarket.
An AGCO pump is about ten times the price. I wish I could tell you the quality was the same, but I only have experience with one. I put an aftermarket in my 1850. It lasted quite a while, but eventually the seal blew on the drive shaft. I took it to a shop, they sent it to another shop, then they couldn't find it. I had a 1600 parted out, so I took the stock original pump out of that and put it in. It's still going.

I was at the dealer around that same time and they were installing an aftermarket in one. Bruce didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with them. He seemed to think the price difference was worth using them anyway.

Some years back when I bought my 2-70, two months later the hydraulic pump died. The replacement I got from Maibach was an aftermarket pump. I've got over 600 hours so far and it's still going.

Both my 1650's have the aftermarket hydraulic pump. I could only guess how many hours I have on them, likely over 2000 between the two. If I remember correctly the aftermarket pump is a Parker. I'm happy with them
