Oliver 1650 diesel overheating

What would be the causes that all of sudden my tractor is starting to overheat? What should I be looking at to stop this condition?

When the neighbor's did that years ago the head gasket let go. With the cap off, coolant above the tubes remove the fan belt so the water pump doesn't turn. Start the engine cold and see if there's ANY bubbles in the radiator. If so, there's an internal leak somewhere.

I'd check the thermostat first. No sense tearing anything else apart before starting with the simple things. If it was gradual, I'd say radiator. My 1550 kept getting worse over time and the core was plugged.

That's a very general question but off the top of my head, low coolant level, bad thermostat, bad water pump, broken belt, bad cap, clogged radiator, and yes and worst, headgasket.

Start with the simple stuff! Slipping fan belt; radiator blocked with chaff; collapsed lower hose.

Then go from there.
