Looks like I'm an Oliver man now

I grew up on Fords, Internationals and John Deere, but I'm now the proud owner of an Oliver 1655.
Many thanks to Keith Molden for checking it out for me (it was 9 hrs away and I just had knee surgery),
and for Chuck Stratton (Chaffee Mo.) for hauling it for me.

I have got the red version. I think the green looks better but you dont see a lot of them around these parts. one of the handiest, nice to operate olivers built in my opinion. The gas might be a little hard on fuel, but with the diesel prices so darn high might be a wash?

That 6 cylinder Waukesha gas does have a sweet sound. In the mid 70s Pa tried a 1755 gas one spring. It was gutsy, but thirsty.

Nice looking rig. I found a yellow one, but the owner didn't want to part with it.

It has cast iron centers, with extra weights mounted inboard. I plan on using it for mowing, grading the driveway, and doing tractor rides, so I don't need the weights. It looks like it has 34 inch John Deere rims. I'd like to put pressed steel centers on it to make it lighter for hauling on a trailer, if anyone knows a good source for them.

3 years ago, I had nothing but Cockshutts and Fords, now I have a Super 88, an 880, a Oliver Hart Parr 70, an Oliver Row Crop and I bought a 550 yesterday. WHY ARE THESE OLIVERS SO ADDACTIVE???

Very good tractors. Last week I mentioned on Facebook how much more we liked our Oliver over our John Deere. Sure got crap from the other green guys! So funny!!
