hard 2-135 hard clutch II

I have a 135 series III that will wear your leg out also. Have always thought a hydraulic assist cylinder from a 86 series IH would be possible. I have never followed through on this project because I almost never use this tractor anymore. Anyone ever install a helper cylinder for a white tractor??

This is what I would check first, because obviously they did have a serial number range that was installed wrong, and it s always possible that yours was never checked/fixed. I bought a couple of binders of service bulletins several years ago, just to look at, but they have came in useful.

How's the bushing in the pedal on it Al? I never figured my 135 Series 3 pushed all that hard. I did have to put a new bushing in it once though because it was hanging up. If you take the pedal out, you'll see that there's a compression spring on a rod that goes up under the dash. I suppose you could maybe cut a little off the end of that spring to weaken it. I'm not sure if the Series 3 uses that cam. They have the pod cab and I would think things besides that spring set up might be different.

That service bulletin that I posted there, was for the series 3 tractors if you read it. While it serves the same purpose, its a different design as the earlier tractors.

Ok, I have to admit, I am a green lover. I Love my green tractors, but the Series III tractor with duals rides and handles pretty darn good. With the front wheel assist is a very strong tractor. That stiff clutch makes me not like it so much. I plan on bringing it into the shop in a few weeks and do a repaint, and freshen up the cab. It needs some new shoes also. I will look at the clutch bushing and linkage at that time. Thanks guys. Al

You guys need to eat your Wheaties. LOL

I ran the round baler with my Series 3 for years and never thought the pedal worked hard. It hung up when the bushing got bad, but that's about my only complaint.

Hey, just because I CAN push the clutch, doesn't mean I LIKE to push a hard clutch pedal. Dad bought ours in the early 90's and we lived with it since then. I also have hip/back issues, and sometimes at the end of the day my left hip is killing me after running the tractor when I'm using the clutch a lot. Will it make a difference? who knows, but there is only one way to find out.

I sure hope it helps you. They're a darned good tractor and I'd hate to see one parked just for that reason.
