Yesterday I posted about the timing sticker. I used my phone camera on macro and took a series then used it to see where the paint marker was going.

Smart move. I use mine all the time when I do a teardown that involves something I've never worked on before. It sure helps when you forget either, the order you need to use to put it back together, or just where everything goes.

I take a bunch of photos every time I disassemble something, even if I've done it a bunch of times before. Especially with older things, I can't count how many times I've disassembled something that was previously assembled incorrectly.
