carb question

My 1550 has a TSX 610 which was for the S88 but is the usual replacement for the original TSX 903. Seems to be lacking power working hard just to
pull the baler on my short but somewhat steep hills. The Mike's carb website lists all the jets and nozzles for various models and they are different
for the two carbs. I'm wondering if replacing them in the correct parts will improve it. This assumes the 610 and 903 are the same castings.

I dunno. That's fairly specific and might be a question they could answer over the phone. But going straight to jetting also discounts a lot of other common variables and assumes the spec'd (replacement 903) jetting is wrong. I've dealt with a lot of replacement carbs on various equipment and so long as it's listed as a replacement I've never found jetting to be an issue.

If I were in your shoes, and assuming the fuel system/carb is clean, I'd make sure everything is adjusted accordingly including the governor, etc. before I go down a jet road, especially given the variety of your terrain. Not saying you haven't checked, but it could be something as simple as an air filter.
