Oliver 77 Standard exhaust manifold tap size

Ok so outlet is 2 3/8 for the muffler intake
pipe. What size tap is needed to replace the
manifold threads ? Machine shop 2 hours away
says its a 2 inch tap needed. 2 inch tap for
a 2 3/8 hole ? Finding a 2 3/8 tap is like
finding an honest politician.

It is a two inch PIPE tap.

Pipe thread sizes are the ID of the pipe.

Hemley hardware had a lot of large taps in bins had maybe had them 2 inch pipe taps $1.50 a pound also
