About 6 1/2 miles as the crow flies. About 8 miles by road, I suppose.

WJ Cooper, Buckingham.

What a coincedent as here in the UK WJ Cooper were a farm machinery dealer with a depot in
Buckingham. I do not know if they were Oliver dealers in the 1940s when we were getting US built
tractors but I will try and find out. MJ.

(quoted from post at 22:53:37 09/07/22) Gus Farm Equipment in Seven Valley's, Pa. Don't cuss- Call Gus...

I moved to the York area in 1985 and recall Gus was a Massey Ferguson dealer then. Was he still handling White at that time?

Was talking to the guy from Shuey s in Ono at the Eastern Regional Show and he also mentioned Gus.

I grew up on our family farm just east of Pleasant Hill, MO. At one time in the 50s' a guy named Nichols had an
Oliver dealership in Pleasant Hill. A fellow named Paul Purvis sold for him. In 1954 he acquired a new Super H from
a Farmall dealer in Lees Summit for my dad, Arlen Mitchell, who still has it in a barn. Francis Gudde had an Oliver
franchise 18 miles away in Holden, MO. In the early 70's I worked 22 miles south at Archie Implement Company in
Archie, MO. During the 2 years I worked there, ownership went from a corporation consisting of a handful of local
investors to local farmer/businessman Bill Devine and partner Bill Corbin. At that time our block man was Gil
Phleger of Sedalia, MO. Duane Starr was the service rep extraordinaire covering our area. Of course, those
businesses went the way of the others. To my knowledge Duane is still kicking up Nebraska way. The rest live on in
wonderful memory. gm
