Brake pedals

Saw this on an 880 at the Eastern Regional Oliver Show.
I have never seen a break pedal assembly like this on an Oliver before. But then again, I ve led a somewhat sheltered life.

Those were not uncommon on the 77 and 88 Olivers. I don't like
them, but they must have worked for some fellows.
 
Seems to me that all the ones I saw that were still in use had a pedal shaped lump in the middle like the end pedals shown. gm
 
Ya, I'm missing the whole meaning of this post. Did somebody put a piece of pipe in there and that's what's going on or what?
 

Now that I think about it, I think I had a three pedal brake system on my Super 66. Each end operated independently and the middle pedal applied both. But they looked like those pedals.
 
Ya, I think that is what's going on. Usually the bar is missing and looks like somebody made his own.

I find oddities interesting and put it up for others to look at. If it brings on a smile or a chuckle..well I guess that would be the point.
