I had someone ask me if my 1550 had the high speed rearend. I wasn't even aware there was such a thing until he asked me. I assume it's actually a transmission difference, but is there an easy way to tell if it has high speed or not? Here's a picture of it.

(quoted from post at 14:37:14 06/16/22) if it has the original tack there will be the letters H S in the center of the tack
Based on that information it does not look like it is high speed (assuming I'm understanding you correctly).

The easy way to tell is the transmission code (the last three digits after the serial number).

502 is the code for high speed row crop. My guess is yours is 504, normal.

Yes, it is 504. Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.

(quoted from post at 17:08:44 06/16/22) Look at the shift pattern sticker on the dash. If it's high speed trans the low range (1, 2, 5 and R1) is at the top. Regular trans has high at the
top.

I have 3,4,6,R2 at the top. Thanks for the info.
