Neighbor called me today and asked if I could ask what the worm gear is for inside the transmission on an Oliver 70. I think he said the worm gear was maybe on the shaft from the clutch that goes back towards the PTO. I believe he said it was on a splined shaft. There was a nut on the shaft that held the worm gear in place. Could the worm gear been used to drive a belt pulley outside of the transmission case? Thanks for your ideas.
