I have a Super 55 that has been converted to 12 vdc and I don't think the battery is getting charged correctly (or even at all!). What should be the output on the generator? Can I test it with a VOM at the terminals? Does anyone have a wiring diagram of the charging system they could share. I do not know if the regulator was swapped out with the 12v conversion. I'm thinking it might be a good idea to replace it with a known 12v regulator. What say you?

I'd replace it with an alternator personally. Just easier and more dependable in my opinion. I realize that might not be what you're looking
for but just an opinion. I put a mini alternator on my 550 and eliminated the generator and regulator. I was able to use the original
brackets but I did have to slightly modify the lower cast bracket. But that was easy. Good luck. I would guess others will chime in shortly.

So you have an original 6v Super 55? If so, the original wiring diagram is here: http://www.partsforolivers.com/s55_gas_6v.pdf.
You can test a generator on the tractor, there are videos on youtube on how to test with a voltmeter.
