oliver 1955

i recently purchased a 1955 so i now have a 1655, 1855 & 1955. my question is one i should know but where does the additional HP come from on the 1955? is the turbo bigger is the
pump set to deliver more fuel or a combo of both? forgive my ignorance but after i get your responses i will no longer wonder!! thanks to all in advance.

We own neither tractor, but do have a 1750 with a turbocharger setup and oil cooler off a 1955. I believe both 1855 and 1955 used the same turbo. Air Research/ Garrett to-4. Extra power was achieved by increasing injector size possibly and pump settings. If Im wrong someone please correct me.

1955 picks up 10hp with pump setting. Oil lubrication and oil cooling are completely differant on 1955's compared to the early 1855's.
Late 1855's were using same lubrication system as the 19's. Both models had quite a few updates from begining to the last built.

The 1955 and 1950T engines were pretty much the same, more so then early 1855/1955. The pump on a 1955 has different settings and internal parts for more HP then the 1855. Turbos were the same on all 3 models. Like Cash4Toys said the oil/lube system was different on a 1955 then the 1855 until the recalls and field service updates came out for the 1855. Then white changed everything over to a 1955 specs and there are even more updates to that engine during that time and up until the end. I would really like to put together a book or file on a zip drive of all the changes and updates White did to the 310 for those tractors. I have collected some of them but not all. As for the rest of the tractor I believe but am not 100% sure. The 1955 rearend/trans used a center support bearing for the differental and the 1855 did not. Like I said I am not completely sure about that I have never had a 1855 apart. 3speed and hydraulics should all be the same.
