I have a 65 1650 diesel wide front I have been working on(engine free but probably will need injector pump rebuilt.any way my question is being overbuilt compared to modern tractors what size loader should I be looking for?or is it more complicated than just the size?not sure where to start

I believe the 1610 was Oliver's loader but there are many others that would fit or be made to fit. I put a JD 148 on my 1550 with only a pair of bars and spacers for the spreader. The Oliver's tub is about 5/8 wider than the Deere's frame rails. I had to flip the front bar and add the 2 spacers because the slots didn't quite line up at the sides.

A neighbor used to have a Westendorf on a 1650 but it was too long ago for me to remember the model number on the loader. It was a nice rig.

Oliver 1610 is the one that was made to fit a 1650, and it should be the same as a Schwartz 1400 loader. Just like Oliver's 1610 could be mounted on a variety of tractors, other companies made loaders that fit a 1650. Westendorf was another company that made a lot of loaders.

Here's a 1610 on my 1650.
