I bought a decent 1800 with a year-round
cab that from day one (and I got it at a
good rate because of it) was burning rich.
No big deal; rebuild the carb and it
starts just fine, but it still burns rich.
Now oil streaks down the side of the block
from the exhaust manifolds and I'm getting
enough back pressure into the crankcase
that it's pushing oil out the filler cap.
Compression test showed 140+ consistently
across all 6 cylinders, so I know it's not
rings or seats. This pointed me to the oil
seal around the intake valve as the manual
I have doesn't seem to have one for the
exhaust.
However, I cannot seem to find or track
down any valve seal and valve seal guard
that are clearly marked in the manual.
Jensales doesn't even carry it for the
diesel either. Can someone point me in the
right direction for the valve seals for
the Waukesha 283 gas motor? I've searched
all I can and still can't find a
replacement for them. Thank you in
advance!
