1550 Diesel - muffler or straight pipe?

I'm getting down to the last of the 1550 restoration, it's time to order either a muffler or a straight pipe. From watching all the O66FB videos, I'm leaning toward straight pipe. Wondering what you guys think?

Why in the world would you spend time and money on a restoration and then mess it up with a straight pipe? You might as well put over sized tires on it too if you want it to look like something out of a cartoon.

Naturally aspirated diesels are loud as heck and dont sound right with a straight pipe. Put a muffler on it. If it was a turbo engine thats a different story.

I put a stainless pipe above the muffler on my 77. I also go next week to be fitted with hearing aids. That's something to think about when you get older

Thanks guys, really appreciate the feedback. I just ordered the Nelson, or at least it looks like the genuine Nelson, part number 14245T.

Ok, I give up. Where do you find these 066FB videos?
Is it the 66Oliver channel on YouTube?

Muffler. Chrome straight pipes don't look or sound right on otherwise completely restored tractors, kinda like putting a boat seat on it.

Fielders choice. Once upon a time I would say straight pipe. Growing up I put a straight pipe on everything. Hmmm, suppose that's why I have constant ringing in my ears? Yea Oliver 66 boys tractors sound nice but it is nice being to turn the volum down.

I like a straight pipe as long as its not some oversized piece of shiny chrome.
Most of mine do have mufflers though as I believe it cuts down the risk of fires and is much quieter.
