Would like to know the procedure for converting a 12-volt positive ground to 12-volt negative ground on an Oliver 550 tractor.

For what purpose? I don't think the cluster gauges will work with negative ground unless you replace them.

The problem is that I am unable to get a positive ground cluster gauge, they have been on back order for 2 to 3 months. At this time it seems unlikely that I will be able to find one. I have a new negative ground one. The old cluster gauge is not repairable.

I have a new 550 cluster guage positive ground. I bought it for my brother-in-law as a gift when he got his
tractor, then he had the tractor switched over to negative ground by his mechanic. If you are interested, call me.
812-six three 9- six five three six.

How much are you asking?

When it comes right down to it, I think all you have to do is swap the battery cables to the other posts and polarize the
generator. I don't know about the wires on the coil. You might have to switch them, but I'll defer to somebody else on whether or
not you have to do that.

When I got my 550 it had been converted to negative ground and the cluster gauges did not work,
had to replace it with a negative ground specific cluster.
