1550 seems a little weak

Blowing out from Monday's storm with the 7 foot Allied. The snow was a bit heavy but dry. Seemed like it pulled the RPM down easily and the snow wasn't carrying
far out of the chute. I've noticed this with the 5 foot rotary too. Since I've used both behind a 3-cyl Ford 2000 with a standard PTO and could throw snow
across the road at times. I also use it mowing with the 1207 and it bogs down making an uphill corner. It has a TSX 810 carb, not original. Could this be the
issue. No dyno around here that I know of.

The picture is not from today.

Are you sure it is firing on all 6? Pull Plug wires one at a time while running to find out for sure. Maybe it just needs a plug? I have a 1550 gas that am using for moving snow as well. No complaints about power now, but when I bought it was only running on 5. Not sure how you manage without chains in the snow? Sorry not sure about your carb but mine has the attached on it. Looks like a decent tractor you have there maybe worth investing in the right carb for it? 1550's red or green are a handy tractor. I usually use 2-70 diesel for moving snow but its laid up with clutch problems, kinda like me! The 1550 is a good substitute for the 2-70 as being gas it starts without plugging it in and works almost as good for moving snow.

It has a Mallory distributor the vacuum advance was plugged...with a bolt in the elbow, duh. One of the first things I fixed, replaced it with a pipe plug. No leaks I'm aware of but it needs manifolds, couple of holes just above the carb. Could there be a hole between the upper exhaust and lower intake? Parts book showw what looks to be a thin plate there or is it cast. It's also easily stalled even after it warms up.

Stupid me. I had it out again today to move more snow with the loader. I went to clean out what was stuck to the blower and saw that the chute was plugged the whole way up to the joint. It was stickier than I thought but still not running strong. Even fully warmed up it will stumble if I throttle up quickly from idle. Opened the load needle more and it helped some. I'll have to investigate the manifold.

These holes opened up since I've had it. They're in the exhaust section but the ears where the bolts go are half gone so I'll need both halves. Are the intake and exhaust sections separated by a wall in the casting or a plate sandwiched in between. The lower plug is where the vac advance fitting was. The upper is where PO had a valve for a vacuum hose to run a pump for sap gathering.

Mike, any improvement?
I was going to suggest checking that the timing advances mechanically and to try non-ethanol...
