1954 Oliver 77 hydraulic flow

Am trying to determine the correct flow valve and hose connections for my Oliver77.The flow control valves I have are the 90 valve with the adjusting screw at the end of the 90. I need to know where the flow valves are installed on the pump housing. I assume when you move the control lever up, the cylinder should extend. Does the flow valve restrict the flow going to the cylinder or restrict the return flow? The manual I have shows the flow valve controls the implement down speed.

So the fluid retuning to the pump from the base of the cylinder is restricted but when the flow is reversed it has free flow, correct? On my Oliver the flow control valve on the left side of the pump housing is in the rear port, the right side valve is in the front port.

I have the round flow valves. Would you know where I can buy the rubber boots that are on the control arms on top of the pump housing? I will send some picture of my tractor also.

I found these in my old Oliver operators manual. I dont know if they are correct for my 1954 hydraulic system.

You have a serial number for that 77. That is not a 49. Look at the brake linkage also Oliver list the 77 & 88 diesels being 1950. What do the fuel lineslook like and you can the fuel filter? You can also have group 2 or 3 in 1954.

Thanks for the pictures, I can only wish my 77 was as clean as your tractors. But after looking at your pictures and others I think that the flow control valves can be installed in any port coming out of the pump. So I will need to switch my control valve on the left side (move to the front port) so the implement will rise when the lever is moved up and the flow restricted when the lever is pushed down. I was worried that the restricted flow valves could cause damage to the pump if installed incorrectly.
Thanks again for your help.
