So sitting here after my post below racking my brain. This is
what Ive come up with. Tractor has a Holley distributor with
vacuum advance. A while back I converted the tractor to
electronic ignition. Vacuum line from the manifold to
distributor has always been hooked up. Dad usually runs the
tractor raking hay and has mentioned messing with the carb
to get it to run right. My current thought is the diaphragm in
the distributor may be bad causing a vacuum leak and a lean
condition. That would explain the lean mixture that apparently
has gotten worse. Since it isnt necessary I am going to put a
pipe plug in the manifold when I put it back together. Thanks
