Oliver model number codes.

Does anyone know how to decode the model number options on Oliver serial plates? Like model 16-1211? It's a 1600 tractor but what options would it be?

There should be two numbers, a serial and a specification number. A 16-xxxx specification number should be a Super 66, not a 1600.

It is a diesel row crop but widefront; possible conversion I suppose. How did you get that info?

Floyd County Museum in Charles City, sells a book that has some of that information. My copy doesn't have the new cover but I think if you ask for the serial number book by Lloyd McCray they should find it for you. The book has serial numbers and other information for Oliver, MM, Cockshutt and all of the different factories.
