Hart-Parr 18-36

Was browsing local Craigslist this morning and saw a Hart-Parr 18-36. I'm typically a John Deere guy, but find pretty much anything pre-1930
interesting. The pictures had a very clear picture of the serial tag "98043". From what little info I could find online the last listed serial
number for an 18-36 is "90698", placing the tractor in the add well after that range. Anybody here have more expertise on these that could shed
some light on this? Link below if it works.
Hart Parr 18 36

There is a Facebook group that is about the pre 30 Hart-Parrs called Hart-Parr Founders of the Tractor Industry. Somebody on there would know

That second site is where I got that last serial number from. I
don’t have Facebook. If you do could you post my question
there?

The first response is.

I think that one of the few 18-36 that was built after the merger. I think they built 100 tractors with the parts that was on hand they had a different serial numbers.

Does someone sell blank serial tag repops? If so, that's very plausible. Someone couldn't read the old numbers and could've transposed an 8 for a 0, etc.

Then again, that was around the time of the merger so who knows what was getting built and stamped. A post merger tractor would be neat, but not $8k neat.

Following your suggestions of it being post merger I did a little more looking and found that the serial tag should bear the Oliver name. It seems
they build them into 1932. I went back and looked at the picture close again and sure enough, there it is "Oliver Farm Equipment Company". It is
interesting that the information about the serial numbers for the Oliver build 18-36 tractors doesn't seem to be around anywhere.

I appreciate your guys help on this. I learned something new. The tractor is neat, but not 8k neat to me either...

The information that "Oliver" would appear on the serial I actually found buried in the archives of this site:

https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=oliver&th=151222

The info that they were built by Oliver into 1932 was actually from an 18-36 Parts Catalog. It was a free (watermarked) preview pdf from Jensales.
It is on page 3, the last paragraph:
