Oliver Super 88 Diesel Block

I have a Super 88 diesel block. Can this block be used to build a gas motor? If so, what would I need to do to accomplish this. Thanks.

Yes, short block assembly for gas or diesel was the same part number!

You need to pull the idler gear boss out the the block. Gas motors have a deep cupped plug in there to cover the pump lub hole and plug the hole out the outside of the block.

You might need to pull dowel pins out the deck.

Where the gas governor goes I believe you will have to pull a cupped plug and put a bushing in there.

I converted an 880 gas block to a Super 88 diesel a few years ago. Before that I converted an 88 diesel block to a gas.
