1650 Connecting Rod Bolts

Hey Guys,

I’m reassembling an Oliver 1650 (1964 w/Waukesha 265 gas) and I’m about to install the connecting rods. I have found a supply of OEM at $48 a bolt (not an option), and have spent a lot of time researching options. The ones that I took out were 3/8-24 x 2.5”. I ordered a set from a supplier that said they were for a Oliver 1650 gas w/ the 265, but when I got them in the mail they were 3/4” too short. I have heard good things about the ARP bolt sets. Does anyone have any experience using these bolts or a preferred option? Thanks for any advise.

In recent reading, ARP still has as good a reputation for quality as they always did.

I wouldn't be afraid of them. I just never thought about them having sets for tractors. They have always been big in performance stuff.

I bought ARP bolts for the rods in my IH 560D when I rebuilt the engine, get online and find the size, length and six or twelve point head design you want. The size I needed come five to a package, so you will have extra. They come with special washers too. I ordered mine through a sprint car engine builder, I think a Motor State truck delivered them.
