550 diesel smoking problem

Ive been working on our 1963 Oliver 550 diesel. It has the roosamaster pump. The thing starts great, and now that I got the manifold heaters working it will start
at some pretty cold temps easily. The problem is, the exhaust never clears up. Diesel smoke, not oil. This weekend I replaced the injectors with a set I tested
and reset the pressure and while it runs a bit smoother at wide open it still never burns clear. Looking thru the injector ports, the power cells looked good not
all carboned up, and I drained the fuel and replaced it with fresh, along with the all new filters.
Not sure what else it could be.. If it didnt start so easy and run so well Id say it was tired. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

How is the air cleaner?? Clean or the intake pipe plugged or bowl have ice in it. Does the temp come up?

I started my 88 diesel up a few weeks ago. It didnt smoke alot but enough I didnt want to drive it far. Temp guage barely moved so I'm wondering if it has a thermostat.

Also working on an Oliver 550 Diesel smoking issue. I have a Bosch pump, however. Here is what I learned and what youve probably already read:
Blue smoke indicates you could be burning oil. Mine was blue/gray. I checked the dipstick and diesel has ran into my crankcase, and now I am way above proper operating level (new thread with questions on this issue soon).
White smoke can be condensation, but if it sticks around after fully warming up and youve seated the rings through working it under load, could be either a compression issue or you are burning coolant (hopefully neither).
Would another please confirm this?
