Still working on the power steering. The guy
helping me messed up one of the line fittings so we
need to figure a solution. Hope he didn't damage
the new control valve. Exspensive! While it's down
we are also hoping to fix the oil leak at the pto.
New oil seal and the daft looks all good. Sandwich
oil in it for 3 days no leak. Started it today and
it leaks. Didn't turn on the pto. The small shaft
was not in it. I wasn't there but my buddy says it
was leaking out of where the shaft goes in. How is
that possible? Isn't the pto shaft solid? How is
the oil getting out??

There is an o-ring between the long shaft coming from the pto clutch & the splined hub that the stub shaft goes into. It's a pretty good job to replace it

Ok sounds like I need to replace the o ring(s) on the pto shaft. From the sound of it I will need to down through the top and at some point pull the entire shaft out to do this. As I recall the pto shaft goes into the pto clutches and there are some set screws? that hold it in place. Is that correct or can it just pull the shaft out the back after releasing it from the clutches. I'm due for a break on this thing sooner or later. Still fighting the power steering problem but as soon as we figure that one out the oil leak has to be solved.

Thanks,
