My tank is full of rust; Im not seeing any new ones out there for this tractor- if there are they are very expensive. Any ideas? Thanks

Is you tractor gas or diesel? Where is the battery located, behind the dash above tank or below left floor board? I may have a extra tank I would part with. You can try and clean them out a few different methods.

Ok the tank I have is for a gas tractor with battery mounted under floor board. Is your tank just rusty inside or actually rotted out?

I had same problem with a 1800a.i took my tank out filled it with water, cut 3 really big holes in each section on the tank theres a baffle in it,cleaned it with a wire brush on a cordless drill, welded pieces back in.my tank had a rust line right at where the old fuel was at,it sat for years without much use with probably 1/4 tank of gas

you can take the tank off, put in a bunch of steel shot or other small nuts or something that will fall thru the outlet hole. plug the outlet and inlet, strap the tank to rear wheel of an other tractor and do some work. just be sure to wear hearing protection. you may need to strap it in a different direction to get it all clean. the inside of tank will be down to bare metal in a few hours. you can then drain the shot out of the bottom hole, may need a bit or air and some shaking to get it all out.

Muriatic acid and water. Half and half, and slush it around good. When it's done wash it out with dawn soup and water, rinse with clear and dry it out. I used compressed air and parked it by the heater. If you have holes, it'll show up.

for just the rust, here is an inexpensive start, don't know how it compares to the muriatic acid approach:
