Oliver Cummins project

Everyone, I have an early dodges 12v cummins I am putting into a 1750 Oliver. The question is do i need to change the injection pump or modify it? Tractor will be used for mowing, raking and general farm yard work.

What else do I need to know ?

Get ahold of Maibach tractor in Ohio.
They are the guys to talk to about
cummins swaps. I believe pump settings
will have to be changed along with
governor. I think you can use your 1750
tub with alot of modifications but a 1850
diesel tub is preferred. Bellhousing and
clutch parts. Like I say those guys will
know what you need.

The Bosch VE pump will work as is but governor response will be on the sluggish side, unless the main governor spring is replaced. The stock spring is about 15 %
regulation, most tractors are 8-10 % regulation range. Not really an issue for light load use, but for heavy full load use the engine will drop about 300 RPM. Tractors on
average drop 175-200 RPM no load to full load.

I have the bell housing, tub, and everything already done, Just need to do front motor mount and adjust pump or replace it to ensure proper operation.

There is a P3000 Cummins 5.9 injection pump for sale locally, off an industrial application, would I be better off purchasing it and switching injection pump?

Exactly what pump do you have now? I assumed a VE rotary as you said early Dodge. If you have a P7100 then you need a P7100 with the AG Bosch RSV governor. The VE and P7100 do not interchange as timing covers and pump drive gears are different.
