New Zenith carbs To replace USX

Has anyone tried those new Zenith carbs that this site carries in place of the Marvel schebler USX on a 1750-1850/55? Not sure if they are overseas knockoffs or what. Pricey at $600 plus. I have had troubles with the USX aluminum one on there now. I know the JD guys say the zenith is a much better carb on the 3020 and 4020s. I believe when the 1855 came around the factory went with the cast iron zenith.

Information that I have gathered recently for the Zenith carburetors is that they are built to Zenith specifications. It seems as though someone bought the specs for the carburetors and is having them made according to that. Id say that they are a Zenith, but they arent. I recently also spoke with someone from Roberts Carburetors in Spencer IA about the very same conversion you are asking about. Id suggest giving them a call. He seemed very knowledgeable about both the Marvel Schebler and the Zenith Carbs. However, they are even more expensive

I bought one a year ago for an 1850 at the farm. Tractor would even fire at all. It had a restriction internally. Bought a kit for
the USX and the tractor is happy.

I did call Roberts carb and talk with a woman there that was
very knowledgeable. I forgot to ask if they sell the universal
style that out there now. She told me the 4020 carb has a
different throttle linkage, Venturi and jetting. She said they
could not build me one as they didn’t have those parts. She
recommended that I try and find an original Zenith off an
Oliver...

thing is...it's almost as old school as pouring gas into the combustion chamber manually... just find what works, you won't find anything epic. Just be happy it runs without bogging down. Like an old mule, it just doesn't get any better.
