An ad in a local sale paper has been running for a few weeks for $6500. Is that high, low or fair? Asking here since so many are put into Ollies. Not looking to buy, just curious.

Prices are all over the place when it comes to the 5.9. I see 12v anywhere from 1.5-3k out west here, but they're usually higher ("running when pulled") mileage Dodge ram units. $6500 seems really steep to me without knowing more, probably why you've seen it for a few weeks.

Last year I sold my '96 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive that I had bought new last year for $4500. It had 425,000 miles on it and everything besides the power train was pretty well wore out, so you might say the guy gave $3500 for a good running, 1 owner 12 valve with 425,000 miles on it.

For $6500, it better be a complete reman, or have a fairly decent, driveable, shipping crate attached to it. In my parts, $6500 would buy a decent 2nd Gen Dodge. Engine alone is about $3500 around me.
