Re: Oc-46 Motors, good years to target

The OC46 loader was made form 1957 to 65. In 1957 it had a Hercules IX 4 cylinder gas engine. This engine was used in the later OC3 and when tested in Nebraska produced 24.7 PTO HP. IN 1958 they went to the 3 cylinder gas and diesel engines. The gas tested 24.34 PTO HP and Diesel 26.08 HP. So there is not much difference in HP between any of the engines. But the 3 cylinder engines are a much more heavy duty engine. AS they are all over 55 years old it all depends on the condition it is in. Most parts interchange though the years but there were continual improvements. The 3 cylinder could have a reverser or slowlow aux transmission the 4 cyl did not. The B series only made up about 10% of the production and are not easy to find.
