My amazing wife just bought me my first tractor! Shes a 1960 Oliver 550 (gas). It comes with 4 implements: a brush hog, landscape rake, box plow and a spreader. While I have operated a couple different tractors before, this is the first to call my own!

Congratulations, I suggest you get an operators manual, it will help you understand the way things work on that tractor and how to
check lubrication levels.

Ill actually take possession of the Oliver on the first of September. The seller said he was going to try and find the manuals. Hes taken remarkably good care of the old girl.

I think it goes without saying we are all jealous of you. I will say I did have to pay a finder's fee to my wife for tracking down a free Caterpillar fifteen for me. Everything was good until she found out I gave money for another for "parts." Should've learned my lesson.

Congrats on the 550. One of the best Oliver ever produced and with regular maintenance, it shouldn't let you down.

That's great she got you a tractor. My
girlfriend wanted a tractor so I bought her
one, then I got her a bush hog and a disk.
She was excited and is always looking for
more tractors and implements too.

Thanks for all the encouragement folks! (This is gonna be a long 40 days.)

I should be ashamed of the things that go through my mind sometimes, but I just hope she didn't get it in a divorce from her ex
husband. LOL

Dad traded for the 1st Super 55 that our dealer ever got, nice little tractor on 3x14’s and 2 row cultivator and 7 ft mounted mower When the hydraulic system worked. Problem owned it 2-3 years and traded it off because of hydraulic problems. After trading it off the dealer informed him there was an updated deal that should have been covered under warranty, needless to say dad was up set as the tractor he traded for was a bigger piece of crap, a CASE 300. No brakes, blown head gaskets just to mention a couple of things, traded it for a SUPER 66, and everybody was happy again.
