Oliver 1365 4X4 with accelerator

Ok Looking for some help here. I am looking at a Oliver 1365
It was driving fine and then the owner said he greesed to fitting and now the tractor will only move when you step on the accelerator. Looking to buy this tractor but looking to see what I am dealing with.
 
I don't remember if that has any of those ball and socket fittings in the linkage, I'm pretty sure it does somewhere. Simple fix if
one has slipped out. I'm not standing right beside mine, but seems like there's a rod that slips in a hole and has a cotter pin
through it too, the pin might have come out or worn through. It sure wouldn't be a deal killer. Nothing to it I'm sure.
 
If the fitting is the one next to the bell housing, he pumped the clutch and throw-out bearing full of grease.

It should only get 1 squirt once or twice a year.

Does the throttle linkage work? I wouldn't know an easy way to de-grease the clutch.
 
Oh, if the clutch is full of grease it won't be able to pull/push. Feathering the throttle is just a way to burn through the grease enough to make it move. As my dad use to say, "It isn't strong enough to pull a greasy string out of a cat's a$$."

Hook it to something and see if it will move it, if not (and you are mechanically inclined) you should be able to pick it up for a song. Otherwise it usually costs about $1000 just to split the tractor to get to the clutch.

You only have his word the clutch was fine before, I would go into it like I had to replace the whole clutch...
 
If the clutch is engaged with the tractor in gear and its not moving something bad is at work there,sounds like a clutch job at least,5 to 6 hundred for the clutch plus labor.Also is the handle for the PTO clutch in the up or down position? If its up that is a real bad sign if it was run much that way.
