White 2-85 Starting problem

If you give it ether to start it runs great and will start all day. Leave overnight and no start, Needs ether again. Lift pump and how hard to change?

We just had the same problem with an 1850 and I'm convinced there was some mystery air somewhere in the line. We replaced the lift pump but the problem persisted until it just up and went away. But the lift pump is easy to change regardless, right there on the right side of the block.

Make sure the constant bleed orifice is open on top of the filter base, when it plugs air that should escape the filter assembly will get into injection pump inlet.
