well i got a new battery tray built today,old one rotted right out and still had original ground on the tray. new 2/0 cables built, installed the gas tank. and radiator and fired it up. started good with 6 volts. went for a drive around the yard first time tractor moved on its own for as i said about 50 years i have never seen this tractor run before. shifter must be stuck in trans. , as cant shift to low range. tommorrow will change out manifolds and tap and install a new pipe. this one pretty rotten. kind of a good feeling seeing this old oliver running.

Always good to hear an old one run again. The index hearings get rusty. After some oil gets up there the my free up. They also get worn out but I imagine its from sitting. I have taken the shifter out and tried spraying penetrating oil forward on the shafts. I dont know if it help but mine isnt stuck anymore.
