can I put a 1850 low range gear on the trans main input shaft instead of an 1750 gear

Check the part number and the tooth count. Do you have the serial number for both tractors?

First, what is the last three digits in both tractor serial numbers? If the numbers are the same they are identical, and all parts will exchange.

There is three series of transmission/finals in the model 1850. The early 1850 and all 1750 tractors are the same.

don't know part tractor serial. the gear overall width is the same . but the 1750 the teeth are cut down , for a narrower gear width . leaving a step to make it the same width at the shaft
