hyd oil filter number for super 55 needed

local parts store cant come up with a hyd filter number, does anyone happen to have one? thanks for the help about got it done and ready to use, have a great day
 
Remember there were 2 different filters used. Is your filter on the side of the unit or in the front of the hydraulic unit? 1957 is the year of the change.
 
I looked my tractor ser number up and its a late 57 and I think the filter housing is located on front of the unit just under the seat, round canister with a hex molded in, there are also 3 drain plugs under this tractor, I thought the trans and hyd were all one reservoir so am I wrong about that? thanks for any help looking forward to using it as soon as this is all taken care of.

Hydraulic and trans oils are separate. There is a shallow "oil pan" sandwiched between the transmission case and the cast top cover that the seat is mounted on. If you look closely at the seam between those 2 castings you should be able to see it in this order.

top cover
gasket
oil pan
gasket
transmission case
 

Forgot to add that the transmission case has a couple of bulkheads in it to hold the bearings for the gearbox shafts, the 3 drain plugs are to drain the 3 areas defined by the bulkheads. Without separate drains the oil below the bearings could not be drained. An added bonus is that the 5 gallons of trans fluid can be drained one section at a time rather than all in one shot.
