Oliver 1750 Diesel

My Nephew is looking at buying a Oliver 1750 Diesel. Is it a good tractors? What are the Pros and Cons about this tractor. He wants to bale hay with it. Price is $6500.00. Thanks for any information you can give.

We have a 1750, and brother has 1755. 1750 is a good tractor, we bale small squares, and rounds with it. 2 speed hydra power is good and very reliable. 3 speed hydraul shift I think is better. It is also very reliable. 310 engine was good if not turned up past its limits. There was also an engine update for the wrist pins which helped solve some of the engines issues. Overall a great tractor for the money, but 6500 is kinda on the high side in my opinion unless its well taken care of and has good rubber ect.

I mow(IH 990), rake(Oliver), and bale(14T baler) with my 1755D. For raking I wish had a much smaller tractor than even my Farmall M, like a 9N. However, it depends on his hay equipment. Large hay equipment requires a large tractor. Regardless, the price seems a bit high (sight unseen) but that may be due to location too. I paid $5500 for the 1755 over a decade ago FWTW.
