external draft spring installation

Assume you are talking about the big flat bar springs at the bottom, not the small spring at the top? Unhook the draft link at the top from the linkage and then you should be able to rotate the lower link support to help you line up the springs. If that doesn't give you enough, then a large ratchet strap from center to center of the springs tightened enough to compress the springs and elongate them enough to get the pins in. 2 person job.

Forgot to mention, all this assumes you already have the adjuster bolt removed from the left hand side of the lower linkage and still can't get the springs on. If you have not removed that bolt, do that first and try it.

Those leaf springs need to be preloaded.   Before you back off the bolt on the LH side mark it or count threads so you know where it was adjusted.   I was part of the introduction crew for the 2050 & 2150 tractors.   We got preproduction tractors for the introduction.   Prior to first dealer presentation we took them to the field and the plow would go really deep in the ground then raise completely out, just cycle down & up.   Calling engineering they said that the assemblers didn't know that the springs had to be preloaded, fortunately we were close to CC, they sent someone to adjust them.   The owners manual says that the springs have been preloaded at the factory, should you need call your Authorized dealer!
