Using power beyond for a single action cylinder?

I bought a three point disc mower and want to run iit on my 1555. According to the owner manual you cannot use single action hydraulics widen using the three point.

Question can I plumb a hydraulic valve into the power beyond port and then return the oil from the added valve back and only put one hose on the new valve.

Thoughts

I've wondered, but haven't tried, if you could take a second hose, run it back in the return where the power beyond return line would go, then put a male tip on the other end and plug it in to the other remote where your down pressure hose would go if you had a two way cylinder plugged in? That would let that side of the remote release pressure and give it someplace to go. It'd be a lot cheaper than a valve, hoses and couplers for the power beyond.

If I understand you, you want to run a single acting cylinder on a remote and have the bypass valve closed so the three point is available. You can always try it. May work. I did that once when hooking up my MoCo. It still lowered but slower and made some noise.

Does the mower have to use a single acting cylinder or could a double acting cylinder be used? On my NH mower it came with a cylinder acting cylinder and I replaced it with a double acting cylinder no problem.

Guys, I put a power beyond valve, meant for a front end loader, had one function on joystick that had float, onto my 1655. Float feature works perfectly. Plumbed up according to a pic/recommendation from this site. Three point hitch works fine. This is a can do operation.. Good luck..

That didnt work. Well at least now I have the return line run for the power beyond valve done. Now I just need to find a source for the 3/8 hex plug with the Allen wrench in print. I might just swap out a normal plug with one on the hydraulic platform..

Thanks for letting us know. I wondered, but looks like it was another theory I had that didn't work. Now you have me wondering...if it had a restrictor in it.....?

That is possible..I was going to install a ball valve in the line to the return and valve it off to see if I could lift the cutter bar,, bit didnt get that far as the hay was ready to round bale by then,,

I might try that this week.
