Oliver 88....maybe 1950'ish

(quoted from post at 20:48:05 06/04/20) Seems like I looked mine up on a Gates site.

O'Reilly Carries gates but you will probably have to order them. [/url]

(quoted from post at 22:46:19 06/04/20) My fan belt is worn out- anyone know the number by chance? Has generator only. Thanks.

I don't know if I have the answer or not, but here goes. My tractor is a 53, 77, so I'm not sure if it's the same as a 88. But I had a MBL brand, 5LK370 on it which was a little loose at full tight adjustment. Yesterday I bought a MBL, 5LK360 which is a inch shorter. I have'nt tried it yet as I'm doing a altenator bracket modification.

I went to the Gates site and looked it up and ordered it from O'Reillys and it was way wrong...too wide and too short. I will go
by measurements....thanks.

Additional adjustment to the slip ring on the crankshaft pulley can be obtained by drilling three new holes in the base pulley. To accomplish this, back off the adjustment to within about 1 1/2 inches of all the way loose. Centerpunch for three new 1/4 holes forward of the originals. Make sure the holes are exactly 120 degrees apart to maintain good rotating balance. Drill the new holes and move carriage bolts, clips and washers the new locations, again to maintain balance. This extra adjustment will compensate for pulley wear top and bottom and allow use of an original equipment belt. We ran an 88 many years with this modification with no ill effects. I'm guessing at the 1 1/2 inch distance because the tractor has been sold. Use your best judgement.

That belt number 5LK360 worked on my 77 for the fan only.
