1973 White backhoe

I just got this 4-80-17 recently. It hasn’t been started in 25
years apparently. It looks to be in very good condition with
only 3634hrs on meter. I’ve drained all the fluids and taken off
all the old filters. I want to roll the engine over by hand and
was wondering if a pipe wrench on the end of the pto is the
best way to go. I have the starter out but am hesitant to pry on
the fly wheel. I can take the oil pan off and go about it that
way but thought I’d look for someone experienced in
resurrecting old iron.
Sure I can put the starter back in and try it, but I thought
getting it to roll over a couple times first might be better. Any
thoughts?

I did apply some pressure on the fly wheel but don’t want to go hard on it and break a tooth. That’s why I’m looking for alternatives.

Does it have a pump on the front? If not might be able to use a socket and long extension. I would say if you break a tooth off you got other problems.
