I am going to get ugly in removal of my 550 clutch hub spanner nut. Last resort is using the ole air hammer to knock it off. But before I do this last ditch effort, I need to find a source for the nut.

Above is the part No. and a link to the appropriate AGCO parts book page. You can check for dealers who may have that part. Two are below, there

More than likely one of the gentlemen like Phil or Jerry will post all so.

Aren't these nuts staked? Did you drill it out? Or am I thinking of something else?

I drilled the stakes out. Tried tapping with a hammer and punch. Made THE tool. My half-inch breaker bar laughs at me. I have my small pipe wrench around shaft and wedged up underneath the steering gear(I have removed engine to replace it with a very low hour one, about 400 hours)I brought home my 3/4 drive set
and modified my tool to fit a 1 1/2 socket. I am going to give that a shot this weekend. It is a right-hand thread? I saw that somewhere on an Oliver
site. Any other ideas. I do not want to get too ugly for fear of not locating a new nut.

I’m guessing you’re talking about the pto clutch? I made this when I took mine apart. Had to get a helper to hold a big pipe wrench on the pto shaft and used a cheater pipe on the breaker bar but I finally won.

I made a spanner like that one, but after 1/2 drive breaker bar flexed too much, I modified it to handle a 3/4 breaker bar. This morning I am going to heat the nut a bit and try the 3/4.

Nut came off. Heat and standing on a 3/4 breaker bar. Thank you all for the advice. I think the nut is salvageable. I have time, if I can get one, I will. I have messaged Kent but have not received anything back.

mechknit--How did you message me--As of right now,5-31, I haven't seen any message---My email's open & my phone # is 903 729 8349---Thanks
Kent Gordon

Hello Kent,
I went on instant messenger. I see you are also on an Oliver page of some sort. I did get the nut off eventually. I need to look at it closely to see if I should get another one. Might call you...
