Oliver 70 canvas seat

Is there anywhere that sells the canvas seats for Oliver 70?

I have just inherited a Cockshutt 70 standard and would like to put a canvas seat on it instead of the plywood that is currently on it.

The old timers I know say the cloth seat covers were feed bags. Farmers could use a new feed bag and be all set.

That was going to be my suggestion. There was an actual seat cloth for them, but a cloth seed sack will slide right over them. Get one from an antique store and it'd add a real touch of authenticity. LOL

I?d prefer to buy a new canvas cover.

I don?t have burlap bags and getting the ?right size? might be a pain.

Plus my 70 is fully restored and I want it to look clean and new.

My other option will be to have a cushion made of black vinyl on a plywood base.

I think somebody probably makes them, I just don't know off the top of my had who. It wasn't a burlap bag that fit them, it was the old white cloth flour sack that seed corn came in years ago. Some of the flour companies used to make those in a special print because women would use them to make kids dresses and what not out of them.

After reading the other commenters, I'd recommend that you find an industrial upholsterer and have him (her?) give you some recommendations.

I did a Google search and their is some older posts on here of places you could get them. Might not be able to anymore. Did you try korves?

Bill Campbell used to sell them, but unfortunately Cancer got him a few years ago now. I believe he just had an upholster shop make them up for him out of a heavy weight canvas that had a green tinge to it. I have a couple that I could take dimensions, maybe thickness from if you want?

Here are some pics with dimensions
