New water pump problem today

I noticed a bit of fluid weeping out of the water pump on one of the 1850's this morning so I thought I would be smart and take a couple of the old ones sitting on my parts shelf in for new seals. When I drove up to the old shop where I used to get the 1650's water pump fixed, the shop was long gone. I checked around at the other mechanical shops about getting a water pump rebuilt and I guess no one does it any more. AGCO says the seals are not available but will gladly sell me a new pump for around $310. Is there an aftermarket supplier for the water pump seals for the Perkins 354 engines? No suppliers around here are any help?

Best bet is probably an aftermarket pump. I got one for my 77 from Korves Oliver just a few months ago for around $85, no core charge or return.

Kellog Automotive in Arizona. Order the parts and do it yourself or he can rebuild it for you. Did pumps on my 1550 and E4 with his parts. HF 12 ton press paid for itself with the first one.

A quick look and I can get a kit for the 2-105 pump and a complete 1850 pump, haven't check all my suppliers. If you would like me to dig deeper , send me an email.

You need to remember that a 2-105 has a high mount water pump and the 1850 has a low mount pump. The part number for the 1850 seal on the 1850 has changed too.

Hi Dave
I may be able to help...just need to confirm the part number with you. E-mail is open...bottom right classic view

I have been online with Debbie and she is waiting for one to come in. Still about $200 more than I wanted to spend. I may try ordering a seal from the UK and try doing one myself.
