550 power steering oil

I got the power steering pump and tank back on the 550. The manual calls for 10w motor oil with additives, can I just use the universal trans/draulic fluid that I use in the hydraulics for it? Thanks, Chris

Not that it is right, but that is what I have been using in our 550 power steering for the years we have owned it.

My manual says 10W engine oil with additives.......or ATF. I've always used ATF since it was in there when I got it 15 yrs ago. SW3
