First time removing a bell housing to get a look at the clutch. On the lower right side, I see the spread tail end of a cotter pin outside of a hole. Looking at the illustration in the parts book I do not see this listed and thus don't know what this is attached to inside. Do I straighten out the cotter pin before trying to remove the bell housing?

There is also a cotter pin that holds the clutch arm in location in the bell housing, it should not be removed to
remove the bell housing.

It is called a "jiggle pin" Supposed to be loose and wiggle so the drain hole in the bottom of the bell housing stays open. Oil from a leaky seal or rain water can get away. You don't need to remove it to service the clutch.
