Early 70 belt pulley attachment

Quick question, I have a 3x ish 70 RC missing the belt pulley.
Was looking at it today and don?t see any internal threads on
the pulleys splined shaft. How are they held on?

Are you missing just the pulley or the pulley and the housing?

Just the pulley. I just bought a pulley got it gone only to find I got the wrong one...

That isn't what your pulley slides on. That's where outer housing and a coupling couple to the shaft that your pulley slides onto. In other words you are missing some pcs. I will attempt to post some pics out of parts book for you shortly.

This is what I found. As you can see you are going to need to find a outer housing and coupling. Probably not that hard to locate as I am thinking old style and new are same as one of these diagrams are from early and one from later 70 manual.

Thanks for that info. I hadnt seen another 70 in person before. Figured the pulley just fit to the exposed splines that are there now. Now I see!
