1966 Oliver 1650 diesel

I'm curious if anyone can help me figure this out. My fuel pump has the lines blocked off. The fuel line goes thru a little inline filter then thru a large block style filter into the injection pump. the fuel pump on the other side has the lines plugged. I'm pretty sure the filter isn't stock for a 1966. I'm not sure how I would prime it either when I change the filter or even what filter to buy. what exactly is pumping the fuel? Im not sure why the pictures all flipped either...

Thanks
Phil

Some Oliver Waukesha engines use a supply pump, some don't. Injection pump will work fine without it, depending on application. Even the much larger 2-135 and 2-155 Hercules with the Stanadyne model DM pump works fine without a supply pump..

does it start better or have any benefit? was it possible mine wasnt needed after changing the fuel filter out? is that even an Oliver fuel filter? how would I prime it now?

Gravity will work fine to bleed fuel through most filters to injection pump. The injection lines then need loosened at injectors and engine cranked so injection pump when does it's job of delivering fuel to injectors. The square fuel filter was used on late Oliver tractors, also used on. AC, JD, MM, White used the same filter..
