Looking for an oliver 770 or 880 diesel for pulling. Nothing real crazy but curious what the difference between the bosch and Rosa master systems are and which one is better. Read on forum searches one might be expensive or hard to find parts for.


Also for debate sake how does a diesel vs gas oliver engine stack up. Have done some reading and will do more but like they say times are always changing
 
We have two 880 diesels both have the original bosch pump. For "stock" pulling, original engine bore and stroke,and retaining the indirect injection I really see no advantage with the Roosa. In fact the fuel delv. on the bosch is much easier to turn up. That being said if you want to spend some dollars and build an engine, even if you stay with the indirect injection I believe the roosa can be built to deliver more fuel.
Oliver diesel v/s gas as long as both truly stock you will be very competitive with a diesel, but remember this statement-" there are 2 kinds of people in stock tractor pulling losers and cheaters" :)
 
Where are you at? I've got a 770 diesel
I'd like to sell sooner or later that's
taking up space in my barn.
